Noble Deeds

Spay Neuter

Affordable spays and neuters for your cat or dog
Winsted, CT

We believe in veterinary care for every pet.

Here at Noble Deeds, we feel that every pet deserves access to consistent, comprehensive veterinary care, and that every pet owner should have a trusted relationship with a general practice veterinarian.  However, we also recognize that life gets complicated.  Whether it’s financial constraints, time limitations, or lack of local options, not everyone can access traditional veterinary care in order to get their pet spayed or neutered.

That’s where we come in.

Our clinic offers high quality, low-cost spay and neuter services as a practical, accessible, and compassionate alternative.  We aim to reduce the number of unwanted litters and prevent pet overpopulation- because fewer unplanned pregnancies means fewer pets without homes, food, or medical care.

We support responsible pet ownership in all its forms, and we’re here to help you do what’s right for your pet- and for the community.  No judgment, just care.

Your pet will have a complete physical exam performed prior to surgery.  You will be contacted if our veterinarian finds any abnormalities which could put your pet at higher risk for surgery.  At that time, you may decide whether to proceed.  PLEASE NOTE: pre-anesthetic bloodwork, which can identify problems not apparent on physical exam, will NOT be performed.  If you would like bloodwork performed before surgery, you can have this done at your regular veterinarian’s office and forward those results to us prior to your appointment.

Important Information

Please note we do not have regular office hours and do not accept walk-ins.  All pets are serviced BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.

Due to limited space and no waiting area, we have strict check-in and check-out windows.  Check-in is 8:00AM – 8:30AM M-F.  Check-out is 4:30PM – 5:00PM M-Th, 3:30PM-4:00PM Fridays. If you arrive after our check-in window, we will not be available to receive your pet and you must contact us to reschedule.  If you arrive past our check-out window, your pet will be kept overnight at our facility at an additional cost to you of $100.

All animals must be at least 4 months of age and less than 6 years old.

We are currently not accepting dogs over 50 pounds.

We are currently not performing cryptorchid surgeries (one descended testicle).

All pets will receive a small tattoo signifying they have been altered.

All cats must come in a carrier- one per cat, and all dogs must be leashed.

We do not take brachycephalic (short-nosed) breeds, such as French Bulldogs, Pugs, Himalayans, or Persians, as they require extra considerations for anesthesia and surgery.

If your pet was recently in-heat, please wait 8 weeks before scheduling its surgery.

Add-On Services

Vaccines:

We offer core vaccines (rabies and FVRCP for cats, rabies and DAPP for dogs) which can be administered the day of your pet’s procedure.  All vaccines are $30 each.

  • Some vaccines require boosters to become fully effective.  We will let you know if your pet requires a booster.  This will need to be performed at your regular veterinarian’s office 3-4 weeks after the initial vaccination.
  • CT state law requires all pets be vaccinated for rabies, regardless of lifestyle.  If you do not provide proof of current rabies vaccination prior to the day of surgery, we will vaccinate your pet at additional cost of $30.
Hernia Repair:

If your pet is female and an umbilical hernia is identified on pre-anesthetic physical examination, this hernia will be repaired during the surgery at an additional cost to you of $50.

Fleas:

If your pet is found to be infested with fleas during the pre-anesthetic physical examination, a short-acting treatment will be administered to your pet at an additional cost to you of $15.

Other Parasite Prevention (cats):

Revolution Plus- controls fleas, ticks, heartworms, intestinal parasites, and ear mites for one month- $30

Microchips:

A microchip implant helps get your pet back to you if he or she gets lost.  This is NOT a GPS tracker.  If your pet comes into an animal control facility, shelter, or veterinarian’s office as a stray, they will be scanned for a microchip.  The number on that microchip will be tied to your contact information through a national registry.  – $40
